Email Template Developer

Overview

The role is responsible for preparing and optimizing email campaign HTML within the PostUp platform to ensure proper rendering and functionality prior to deployment. This role works within our Managed Services team where we do end-to-end deployment or management of customers email programs.

The person will take customer provided images/text and refine HTML templates per requirements. These templates may contain PostUp’s internal scripting language.

The candidate will work closely with internal project managers to meet deadlines, track progress in JIRA, and communicate effectively with clients through email and ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

Review, adjust, and optimize client-provided HTML for email compatibility and rendering across major clients and devices.

Implement and maintain dynamic content using CircleScript within HTML templates.

Troubleshoot and resolve HTML or template issues to ensure campaigns are ready for deployment.

Add or modify sections within existing templates and support template redesign efforts as needed.

Collaborate with internal project managers to manage timelines, priorities, and deliverables.

Track assigned work and progress using JIRA.

• Communicate with clients via email and ticketing systems regarding project status

• Strong proficiency in HTML for email
  • Table-based layouts
  • Inline CSS styling
  • Understanding of email-safe CSS properties and which to avoid
  • Responsive design using media queries (with mobile-first approach)
  • Image optimization and proper use of alt text
  • HTML entity encoding for special characters
  • Email client compatibility
  • Using web-safe fonts with appropriate fallbacks
  Dark mode compatability
  
• Experience editing, troubleshooting, and QA’ing HTML templates
• Familiarity with scripting or templating languages.
• Experience working with tools such as JIRA.
• Understanding of email design best practices and responsive layouts
