Short-Term/Daily Substitute Teacher (Emergency Short Call)
Red Wing Public Schools is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to serve as Short-Term/Daily Substitute Teachers to ensure the continuity of student learning when full-time classroom teachers are absent for a day or longer periods of time.
Role and Responsibilities
Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining a productive and orderly learning environment. Their duties include:
Implementing existing lesson plans and instructional materials.
Overseeing classroom activities and managing student behavior.
Assigning and explaining homework.
Taking accurate attendance and completing required administrative tasks.
Maintaining classroom order and cleanliness.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:
Individuals with at least an Associate’s degree (or equivalent), OR
Those holding a high school diploma (or equivalent) who have served as education support personnel or paraprofessionals in the district for a minimum of one academic year.
Licensing and Application Process
Must successfully pass a background check.
Action Required: Apply for an EMERGENCY Short Call Substitute Teaching license with HR Manager, Kelsie Kuyath.
Incentive: The license application fee will be covered by Red Wing Public Schools.
Please Note: The emergency short-call substitute license is valid for three years and can be renewed by paper application. License applications are submitted to PELSB; processing may take several weeks.
