Your Job

To lead and mentor the ECAD and Component Engineering team in developing, validating, and maintaining high-quality electronic component libraries while driving process excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Our Team

You will be part of the Global Engineering Services (GES) division, supporting the Advanced Engineering Team. We collaborate across design, procurement, and manufacturing to maintain robust ECAD libraries and enable efficient, cost-effective engineering solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the creation, validation, and maintenance of ECAD libraries, ensuring schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models meet company and industry standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, design best practices, and hands-on training in ECAD tools like Allegro and Altium.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PCB Design, Component Engineering, and Procurement to ensure timely and accurate part creation and validation.
  • Review and approve complex component requests, ensuring alignment with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability constraints.
  • Drive process improvements in ECAD workflows, automation, and quality assurance to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround time.
  • Support design teams in resolving component-related issues, obsolescence risks, and alternate part identification.
  • Maintain and monitor ECAD database health, ensuring compliance with PCN updates, lifecycle changes, and parametric data accuracy.
  • Contribute to cost optimization initiatives by identifying alternate components and improving library reuse efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning by conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, tool training, and innovation discussions within the team.
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for complex ECAD challenges, ensuring design integrity, reliability, and alignment with organizational goals

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in ECAD library development and component engineering, including schematic symbol, footprint, and 3D model creation using tools like Allegro, Altium, or equivalent. Proven expertise in component validation, lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration with design and procurement teams. Strong mentoring, problem-solving, and process improvement skills are essential with ECAD tools such as Cadence OrCAD, Altium Designer. Awareness of compliance standards (e.g., RoHS, ISO).

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Proficient in ECAD tools such as Cadence Allegro and Altium Designer for schematic symbol, footprint, and 3D model creation.
  • Strong understanding of IPC-7351 standards, electronic circuits, and both electrical and electromechanical component design principles.
  • Skilled in component validation, datasheet interpretation, and lifecycle management for accurate and reliable library development.
  • Ability to perform effective technical research using manufacturer websites and online resources to source component data and 3D models.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with design, procurement, and manufacturing teams across global functions.
  • Experience in handling engineering databases and PLM systems such as Teamcenter or equivalent tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel for data analysis and reporting; familiarity with 3D tools like SolidWorks or NX is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide junior engineers and promote best practices in ECAD workflows.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to independently plan, prioritize, and deliver results under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will need to work closely with various stakeholders within the organization
