Job Title: L2 NOC Engineer

Location: Pune

Department: Network Operations Center

Experience : 3 - 5 Year

Qualification : BE

Certification : CCNA

Role Overview

The L2 NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. This role requires strong technical expertise in routing and switching protocols, network monitoring tools, incident management, and firewall administration. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills and proficiency in reporting and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor network infrastructure using NOC tools and respond to alerts promptly.

Perform advanced troubleshooting of network incidents and escalate issues as needed.

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP).

Manage and administer firewalls, specifically Fortigate devices.

Utilize network monitoring and incident management tools to ensure proactive issue resolution.

Prepare and maintain detailed incident reports and operational dashboards using Excel (XLS).

Collaborate with L1 engineers and other teams for incident resolution and root cause analysis.

Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during critical outages.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 3–5 years in NOC operations or network engineering roles.

Strong knowledge of Routing & Switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP).

Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix) and incident management systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).

Good understanding of firewall technologies, especially Fortigate.

Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).

Proficiency in report creation and data analysis using Excel.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple incidents simultaneously.
