Engineering CAD Designer

Peerless Pump Company, a leading USA pump manufacturer is seeking an experienced CAD designer to provide drafting and design support for the Configuration, Engineering, Product Management, Product Engineering and Production team. This position will also be responsible for creating drawings and documentation for the Peerless selection tool and product specifications.

This position reports to the Engineering Senior Manager and offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility and two days working remotely from home.

What is the job about?

• Responsible for producing 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design software based on Peerless product data.
• Build a 3D library for horizontal, process and vertical pumps.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and documents.
• Issue Engineering Change Orders for all new and revised component drawings.
• Produce engineering drawings per engineering standards from marked up drawings or order documentation.
• Create 3D assembly animation and update product manual content.
• Operate 3D printers for engineering development team and marketing initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Engineering and Production team to solve problems.

What do you need to apply?

• An associate’s degree in drafting or a technical field is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years in design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient experience using CATIA, Solid Works, 3D and 2D drafting, AutoCAD, Office, and Adobe DC.
• Strong familiarity with complex drawings such as, but not limited to, structural shapes, piping, instrumentation diagrams, general arrangement drawing, electrical schematics.
• Knowledge with rotating equipment including drivers, controls, pump principles, pump construction and hydraulics is a plus.
• Working knowledge of SAP (MM, SD and/or PP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of industry, engineering, math and materials.
• Highly organized, self-starter with strong work ethic with an ability to work with little to no supervision alongside strong interpersonal skills.
