The 150 Civil Engineering Flight (150 CEF) provides maintenance and construction support for the NM Air National Guard. The 150 CEF is customer-based organization supporting all units with small to large scale requirements related to federal real property. The 150 CEF provides all HVAC, electrical, structural, janitorial, grounds, environmental and construction to support the ongoing Intel Squadron, RED HORSE squadron, 150 Mission Support Group, 150 Medical Training Group and HC-130J flying missions.
Why does the job exist?

This position will be the CADD operator and entry level project inspector/management for Kirtland ANG Installations and Environment. The primary purpose of a CADD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) Operator/Project Inspector job is to ensure that construction projects are built according to design specifications, plans, and regulations. This role exists to verify that the actual construction work meets the intended design and quality standards.
How does it get done?

This position will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting design plans, blueprints, specifications and cost estimates to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Ensures bid packages are finalized and all necessary information is included in the design packages. Assist in writing statements of work. Conduct site inspections to verify that construction work is proceeding according to plans and specifications. Identifying and reporting any defects, discrepancies, or deviations from the planned design. Collaborating with construction teams, engineers, and architects to resolve issues and ensure that corrections are made. Performs data gathering for GIS operations and CAD production, to include update red-lined drawings in AutoCAD. Performs basic drafting operations per agency need on small sustainment projects. Performing inspection and verification of field measurements to include operating tools and equipment for data gathering. Performs basic maintenance at field stations and prepare and maintain field equipment. Perform data entry into existing systems. Performs customer interaction, primarily in the field and office duties, to include assisting phone and walk-in customers, filing, etc. Conducting field surveys to collect data on property boundaries, topography, and other spatial features. Operating and maintaining surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS, and levels. Analyzing and interpreting data to determine property boundaries, easements, and other spatial information. Preparing and maintaining accurate records of survey data, including maps, plans, and reports.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Employment Requirements

Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor setting and requires the use of various hand and power tools, as well as operating vehicles and equipment. Some administrative work is also conducted in an office setting. One may be required to work in adverse weather conditions such as extreme cold or heat for extended periods of time. Bending, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds is required.
