Position Title: Middle School English & Social Studies

Grades: 6–8

Employment Type: Full-TimePosition

The Middle School English & Social Studies Teacher provides engaging instruction that builds students’ literacy, communication skills, historical thinking, and understanding of global and civic concepts. The teacher supports adolescent learners through a combination of reading, writing, inquiry-based learning, and interactive discussion while helping them develop independence, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum

  • Teach English Language Arts, including reading comprehension, writing (narrative, informational, argumentative), grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Teach Social Studies topics such as history, geography, civics, culture, and current events appropriate to the middle school curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with grade-level standards (e.g., Common Core, state standards, or school-specific frameworks).
  • Incorporate project-based learning, debates, group work, and multimedia instruction to support adolescent engagement.
  • Integrate literacy skills into Social Studies units to strengthen cross-curricular learning.

Classroom Management & Environment

  • Establish clear expectations and routines suited to middle school learners.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom climate.
  • Use positive behavioral strategies to support students’ social-emotional development.
  • Encourage student collaboration, student voice, and active participation.

Assessment & Feedback

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work.
  • Track and report student progress using grading systems and learning platforms.
  • Communicate regularly with families about student performance and behavior.

Professional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with English, Social Studies, and interdisciplinary teaching teams.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Support extracurricular programs (e.g., reading clubs, history fairs, writing contests, Model UN, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records, lesson plans, and classroom documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Education, or related field.
  • Experience working with middle school learners preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with adolescent development and middle school pedagogy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month

Experience:

  • Payroll management: 5 years (Preferred)
