BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Maine Board of Pesticides Control (BPC), has a current full-time vacancy based in Augusta. The position will assist with several aspects of the BPC pesticide safety education program, including training of pesticide applicators and the public. The position will also assist in preparing educational materials; developing and making presentations; editing, updating, and developing training manuals and exams; improving online continuing education options tailored to specific use sectors; and assisting with BPC website maintenance. The position will include assisting in the management of a custom-built business software solution. The position may include the use of digital/online GIS mapping and remote sensing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A six (6) year combination of education and/or experience in environmental, biological, physical science, or engineering which includes two (2) years of environmental experience. Qualifying education must include at least 15 credit hours of science or engineering coursework from an accredited educational institution.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in agricultural production, pesticide application, business software solutions, and GIS training.
