Job Title: Asphalt Estimator
Department: Asphalt Division

Job Purpose
The Asphalt Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for asphalt paving and road construction projects, including internal company works and external client tenders. The role involves pricing materials, equipment, manpower, plant operations, and transportation to support competitive and profitable bidding.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering & Estimation

• Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project scope.
• Prepare detailed asphalt quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Estimate production costs (bitumen, aggregates, fuel, manpower, plant & equipment).
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations for materials and transport.
• Prepare commercial proposals for internal and external customers.

Cost Calculation & Coordination

• Calculate plant production cost (per ton/m²).
• Estimate site transportation and machinery usage.
• Prepare profit & loss projections and update rates based on market changes.
• Coordinate with operations, procurement, finance, and QA/QC teams.

Documentation & Project Support

• Prepare formal quotations, pricing sheets, and tender submissions.
• Maintain cost databases and track bid outcomes.
• Support project teams with planning, variations, and mix design costing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in asphalt estimation or road construction.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt production and paving operations.
• Excellent MS Excel and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
