Estimating & Cost Analysis
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for swimming pool construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
- Review architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and site information.
- Conduct material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
- Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Develop value-engineering options to optimize project costs.
- Create bid proposals, pricing packages, and supporting documentation.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with sales, design, and engineering teams to clarify project scope.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers for up-to-date pricing of materials, equipment, and technology (pumps, filters, liners, lighting, etc.).
- Assist project managers with budget updates and cost breakdowns during project execution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain historical cost data and update pricing databases.
- Prepare cost comparison sheets, risk assessments, and bid summaries.
- Ensure estimates comply with codes, standards, and company policies.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in estimating, preferably in swimming pool construction, general construction, or landscaping.
- Knowledge of pool systems (plumbing, filtration, electrical, structural) is a plus.
Skills
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Pool Studio) and MS Office.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and scopes of work.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
