Estimator- Swimming Pool

Estimating & Cost Analysis

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for swimming pool construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
• Review architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and site information.
• Conduct material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Develop value-engineering options to optimize project costs.
• Create bid proposals, pricing packages, and supporting documentation.

Project Coordination

• Work closely with sales, design, and engineering teams to clarify project scope.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
• Coordinate with suppliers for up-to-date pricing of materials, equipment, and technology (pumps, filters, liners, lighting, etc.).
• Assist project managers with budget updates and cost breakdowns during project execution.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain historical cost data and update pricing databases.
• Prepare cost comparison sheets, risk assessments, and bid summaries.
• Ensure estimates comply with codes, standards, and company policies.

QualificationsEducation

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
• Equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in estimating, preferably in swimming pool construction, general construction, or landscaping.
• Knowledge of pool systems (plumbing, filtration, electrical, structural) is a plus.

Skills

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Pool Studio) and MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and scopes of work.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
