Job Purpose:

To support the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives in alignment with the company’s ESG strategy, corporate social responsibility goals, and brand values. The Executive – Sustainability will assist in identifying impactful partnerships, coordinating sustainability projects, tracking KPIs, and communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders to enhance the company’s social and environmental impact.

Job Responsibilities:

  • PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION & COORDINATION: The Executive – Sustainability will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of sustainability projects that fall under the company’s strategic pillars, such as Digital Inclusion, Green & Low-Carbon initiatives, and Community Welfare. This includes ensuring project timelines are met, deliverables are tracked, and collaboration across internal teams and external partners is well-managed to maximize social and environmental impact.
  • STAKEHOLDER & PARTNER ENGAGEMENT: The role requires proactive engagement with NGOs, government agencies, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to identify and cultivate meaningful partnerships. The Executive will work to align proposed initiatives with national priorities and global development goals, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while supporting the end-to-end partner management process including drafting MoUs and maintaining collaboration records.
  • MONITORING & REPORTING: A key responsibility is to monitor the performance and outcomes of sustainability initiatives using clearly defined KPIs. The Executive will contribute to the development of regular sustainability reports, internal updates, and external publications. This includes ensuring alignment with recognized reporting frameworks such as GRI, CMCC standards, or internal ESG benchmarks to demonstrate transparency and impact.
  • AWARENESS & INTERNAL ENGAGEMENT: The Executive will organize and support internal awareness campaigns and employee engagement activities around sustainability themes—such as Earth Day, Digital Literacy Week, or Recycling Drives—to foster a culture of responsibility within the organization. They will also collaborate with HR and communications teams to develop materials that promote sustainability values among employees.
  • DATA MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all sustainability initiatives is critical. The Executive will be responsible for managing data related to budgets, impact metrics, and documentation to support internal audits or compliance reviews. They must also ensure that all projects adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and brand standards.
  • COMMUNICATION & VISIBILITY: In collaboration with the Corporate Communications team, the Executive will help bring visibility to sustainability efforts through digital platforms, media coverage, and stakeholder briefings. This includes drafting content such as success stories, social media posts, press releases, and talking points for senior management to use in external forums and industry events.

Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills):

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferably in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • Preferably up-to 2 years of relevant experience

Skills – Job Specific:

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute sustainability initiatives effectively, ensuring timelines, budgets, and impact goals are met.
  • ESG & CSR KNOWLEDGE: Strong understanding of sustainability principles, CSR frameworks, SDGs, and ESG metrics relevant to corporate and telecom contexts.
  • STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT: Proficiency in building and maintaining partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and internal teams to drive collaborative impact.
  • IMPACT REPORTING & DOCUMENTATION: Capability to track project performance using KPIs, compile reports, and communicate outcomes in line with recognized sustainability standards.
  • COMMUNICATION & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT: Skill in creating compelling sustainability narratives and content for reports, campaigns, and external communications.
