- Create cohesive seasonal design concepts for categories such as tailoring, casualwear, outerwear, denim, athleisure, and accessories.
- Develop sketches (hand or digital) and mood boards that communicate the design direction.
2. Product Development
- Produce detailed tech packs including specs, construction details, and fabric/trim selections.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, sample rooms, and manufacturers to develop prototypes.
- Review and fit samples; adjust designs for fit, function, and production feasibility.
3. Trend Forecasting
- Analyze global menswear trends, fashion shows, influencers, market competitors, and street-style data.
- Translate trends into commercially viable menswear products while preserving brand identity.
4. Fabric & Material Selection
- Work with fabric mills and suppliers to source appropriate materials: wool, denim, cotton, technical fabrics, leather, knitwear, etc.
- Evaluate fabrics for quality, performance, durability, and aesthetic alignment.
5. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with merchandising, marketing, production, and buying teams to align collections with business goals.
- Present seasonal concepts and prototypes to internal teams and leadership.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers domestically and internationally.
6. Brand & Market Alignment
- Ensure all designs match brand DNA, target customer preferences, and price point strategies.
- Participate in competitive analysis and consumer insights research.
7. Production & Quality Control
- Support the production team by reviewing final samples and ensuring quality standards.
- Resolve design or construction issues that arise during manufacturing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of men’s fashion, proportions, fit, and garment construction.
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO, Browzwear, etc.).
- Ability to sketch, visualize designs, and communicate concepts clearly.
- Knowledge of textiles, pattern making, and production processes.
- Trend forecasting ability and awareness of the menswear market.
- Strong project management and organization skills.
- Creativity combined with commercial awareness.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in menswear design (depending on seniority level).
