Job Title: Fiber Optic Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Technician / Splicer / Tester to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic networks. This role requires a deep understanding of fiber optic systems, a commitment to safety, and a strong ability to work independently or as part of a team in field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fiber optic splicing for single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables.
• Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to ensure optimal performance.
• Install and maintain aerial and underground fiber cable systems.
• Interpret fiber network schematics, blueprints, and construction plans.
• Troubleshoot and repair network outages and degradation issues.
• Document and maintain detailed records of splicing, testing, and installation activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company safety procedures.
• Coordinate with field engineers, project managers, and contractors.
• Use tools and equipment such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, fiber identifiers, and mechanical splicing tools.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of splicing enclosures, tools, and vehicles.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (required); technical or vocational training in telecommunications is a plus.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing.
• Proficient in using fusion splicing equipment and OTDRs.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as TIA/EIA, OSHA, and NEC.
• Familiarity with GPON, DWDM, CWDM, or other fiber optic network technologies is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is a plus.
• Ability to travel as needed and work flexible hours, including nights or weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From AED2,000.00 per month
