Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of alarm systems, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, low voltage applications, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Alarm Technician will work closely with clients to assess their security needs and provide tailored solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems including fire alarms, security alarms, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper installation.
- Conduct system design assessments to determine the best solutions for client needs.
- Perform construction inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Utilize CAD software for system design and layout.
- Work with various hand tools and power tools to complete installations and repairs.
- Troubleshoot issues with alarm systems, including sensors and wiring problems.
- Provide field service support to clients, addressing any concerns or questions regarding their alarm systems.
- Collaborate with sales teams to assist in alarm system sales and fire alarm sales efforts.
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics.
- Experience in system design using CAD software.
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting and low voltage electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to alarm systems.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations.
- Previous experience as a service technician in the field is preferred.
- Ability to work with hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of sensors used in alarm systems.
