Job Summary:

The Fire Alarm & Fire Fighting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities of fire alarm and fire fighting systems across commercial, residential, and industrial sites. This role includes supervising a team of technicians, conducting site inspections, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and providing training and guidance to technical staff. The supervisor ensures full compliance with Oman Civil Defence regulations and international fire safety codes.

Key Responsibilities:1. Supervision & Team Management

• Lead and supervise a team of fire alarm and fire fighting technicians on daily tasks.
• Allocate work schedules and ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance jobs.
• Review and verify technicians’ work to ensure quality and compliance.
• Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings on-site.
• Report daily progress and issues to the project manager.

2. Training & Skill Development

• Train junior technicians in the proper installation, commissioning, and maintenance procedures.
• Conduct hands-on training for programming and configuring fire alarm control panels (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, Bosch).
• Ensure team members are familiar with relevant codes like NFPA, BS standards, and Oman Civil Defence requirements.
• Promote a learning culture and ensure continuous technical improvement among the team.

3. Technical Oversight & Commissioning

• Supervise the installation and commissioning of fire fighting systems (sprinklers, pumps, hydrants, FM-200, CO2, etc.).
• Oversee fire alarm system installations, ensuring proper wiring, connections, and device functionality.
• Conduct final inspections and performance testing before handover to clients.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions for escalated technical problems.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure all systems and installations strictly adhere to NFPA standards (NFPA 13, 20, 25, 72), BS 5839, BS 9990, and Oman Civil Defence codes.
• Lead system tests, including flow tests, hydrostatic pressure tests, alarm verifications, and emergency drills.
• Enforce the use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures on-site.

5. Client Coordination & Documentation

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project managers to ensure expectations are met.
• Provide detailed service, maintenance, and incident reports.
• Educate clients and end-users on system functionality and routine checks.
• Maintain all required records for regulatory and quality audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

✅ Diploma or ITI certification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering.
✅ Minimum 2-5 years of experience in fire alarm and fire fighting systems, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
✅ Expertise in handling brands like Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, Bosch, Edwards, or Simplex.
✅ In-depth understanding of fire protection systems including sprinklers, fire pumps, hydrants, hose reels, FM-200 & CO2 systems.
✅ Strong knowledge of NFPA, BS standards, and Oman Civil Defence regulations.
✅ Proficiency in reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic calculations.
✅ Hands-on knowledge of pipe fitting, threading, welding, and system assembly.
✅ Good leadership, communication, and training skills.
✅ UAE/GCC driving license preferred.
