Job Summary:

A Flower Decorator is responsible for designing, arranging, and creating aesthetically pleasing floral displays and decorations for various events, including weddings, parties, corporate functions, and other special occasions. They must ensure that the floral arrangements align with the client's preferences and the event's theme, while maintaining high standards of quality and freshness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Floral Design and Arrangements:
• Create beautiful floral arrangements, bouquets, and centerpieces based on client specifications and event themes.
• Design custom floral decor using a variety of flowers, greenery, and decorative materials to enhance the ambiance of events.
• Event Setup and Decoration:
• Arrange and install flowers at event venues, ensuring proper placement and alignment with the event's design.
• Decorate various elements, such as arches, tables, and entryways, with flowers, greenery, and other decorative items.
• Handle delicate flowers and materials with care during transportation, setup, and teardown.
• Client Consultation:
• Meet with clients to understand their preferences, event theme, and budget for floral decor.
• Offer creative suggestions and solutions to clients regarding flower types, colors, and arrangement styles.
• Provide samples and mock-ups when necessary to finalize the design.
• Flower Care and Maintenance:
• Ensure all flowers and materials are fresh and well-maintained before and during the event.
• Store and preserve flowers in optimal conditions before use to maintain their freshness.
• Collaboration with Event Team:
• Work closely with event planners, coordinators, and other vendors to ensure cohesive decor across all aspects of the event.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to execute the desired vision of the event.
• Inventory and Supplies:
• Monitor the inventory of flowers, greenery, and decorative items, and place orders when needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment necessary for floral arrangements and setups.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Flower Decorator, Florist, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of different flower species, floral design techniques, and trends.
• Artistic creativity with a keen eye for color, style, and composition.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, especially during events.
• Good communication and customer service skills to understand and meet client needs.
• Physically able to lift, move, and set up decorations as required.
• Knowledge of flower care, handling, and preservation techniques.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic knowledge of event planning or interior decoration.
• Familiarity with the use of floral arrangement software or design tools.
• Experience working with high-end or luxury events.

Work Environment:

• Work may require long hours, especially leading up to and during events.
• Must be comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
• Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, is often required.
