Freelance Associate Designer Womens Apparel

Our client is working on an Associate design role with a womens apparel brand sold to large department stores. Role is based in NYC - 4 days onsite and one day remote. Office is in midtown. Great company to work for - looking for a few years of experience in both wovens and knits. Need full time help for at least 4-5 months to start.

Responsibilities:

• In-depth experience working with both wovens and cut & sew knits
• Strong flat sketching skills in Illustrator for womenswear
• Must be able to create embellishment layouts in Illustrator
• Comprehensive understanding of fabric, garment construction, and trim
• Garment measurement and specification experience
• Must be proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Fashion design degree
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with collaborative attitude
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrated creative sense and ability
• High taste level and awareness of trends
