JOB DESCRIPTION:

The GATES Grant ST Math Technology Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting the integration

of ST Math, a comprehensive visual mathematics program, into instructional practices. This

position involves providing training, guidance, and ongoing support to teachers and staff in

utilizing ST Math effectively to enhance mathematics instruction and student learning outcomes.

With the guidance of the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Coordinator of

EdTech, the GATES Grant ST Math Technology Facilitator collaborates with educators to develop

innovative lesson plans, delivers targeted professional development sessions, and fosters a culture

of math excellence with the integration of technology. This position requires 80% of the time

supporting math instruction in schools with teachers and students.

**This is a grant-funded position and is projected to last through January 2027. This position is not eligible for tenure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides support and job-embedded training to building and instructional staff in the integration of technology in core mathematics, including the use of ST Math.

• Collaborates with teachers in composing effective technology-infused math content-based lessons.

• Assist program organization in complying with reform initiatives and local, state, and federal guidelines, ensuring that ST Math support is integrated where applicable.

• Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities, including training in ST Math integration.

• Participates in the review and dissemination of current research on effective integrated technology practices, including those specific to math and ST Math.

• Promotes and participates in the development of innovative instructional activities and staff development opportunities for teachers, focusing on math and technology integration with tools, specifically ST Math.

• Plans and conducts demonstration lessons for classroom teachers to model appropriate and effective teaching techniques and strategies, emphasizing the integration of technology, particularly ST Math.

• Keeps a weekly calendar of activities, including ST Math support sessions, to be accessed by the immediate supervisor.

• Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner, documenting ST Math integration efforts as appropriate.

• Utilizes effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member, particularly in interdisciplinary teams focused on ST Math and technology integration.

• Performs other duties as assigned, including additional support for ST Math implementation and integration initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in mathematics or other math-related areas.

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred.

• A valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate.

• Minimum of (4) years of successful teaching experience.
