General Counsel

Seasoned, hands-on Legal leaders required for two separate flagship business units within a large Indian conglomerate operating across Metals, Mining, Oil & Gas, Power & Energy . These are senior, high-visibility roles partnering with the business to lead legal, regulatory, M&A and dispute strategies for capital-intensive operations. Ideal candidates will be commercial, strategic, and comfortable running complex transactions and high-stakes litigation across regulated landscapes.

Location: Odisha/Rajasthan

Experience: 18–25 years post-qualification

Background: Preference for candidates with deep sector experience in metals, mining, natural resources, oil & gas, power or heavy industry . Strong candidates may come from senior in-house GC/Head of Legal roles or from top-tier law firms with relevant industry exposure.

Key focus areas:

• Lead legal, regulatory & compliance strategy for large-scale operations.
• Drive and manage M&A, JV, restructuring and project transactions .
• Own litigation, arbitration and high-value dispute resolution.
• Draft/negotiation of EPC, procurement, project and commercial contracts.
• Oversee land, environment, mining, and sustainability regulatory matters.
• Build, mentor and scale the legal & compliance function; manage external counsel and stakeholder engagement.
• Act as a strategic business partner to the C-suite with strong commercial judgment.
