We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a GIS Analyst to be a part of our team delivering Installation Geospatial Information and Services support to the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The position is full-time and on-site at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Butler in Okinawa, Japan. The GIS Analyst is responsible for specialized technical and analytical geospatial assistance that will support the maintenance of an Enterprise GIS. The candidate will support data development, SDSFIE standards integration, and quality verification processes. They will assist in maintaining geospatial data in an enterprise GIS implementation, aid in the maintenance of the geodatabase, and apply technical and programmatic knowledge of GIS. To perform the duties of the GIS Analyst successfully, the candidate must be:

The following are the requirements of the potential candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or IT related field.
  • 4 years of experience with the use and administration of Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop and Server solutions.
  • Expert user of Esri’s ArcGIS software suite.
  • Experienced and knowledge in the implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and preferably USMC GIS Data Model.
  • Experience with GIS data development in a multi-user/enterprise geodatabase environment.
  • Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) data collection process; field data collection methods, survey techniques and knowledge of accuracy standards.
  • Experience gathering requirements for data, mapping, and applications from users of geospatial information.
  • Able to perform fieldwork in tropical environments and travel via military transportation
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • US Citizen and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance.

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the GIS Analyst:

  • Preferred Certification: GIS Professional (GISP).
  • Preferred Certification: FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Airman with sUAS rating
  • Experience with sUAS operations and data collection
  • Experience with Drone2Map sUAS data processing
  • Experience with DoD IGI&S Programs
  • Experience with Trimble's resource/mapping and survey grade GPS solutions
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experienced working in Military environments.
