GIS and Data Specialist (Information Governance Support)

Tafadur is seeking a talented and analytical GIS and Data Specialist to join our team, focusing on analyzing and evaluating geographic data to support the Department of Information Governance. This critical role involves working with various GIS platforms and diverse datasets (including government and national sources) to produce accurate geographical analysis, maps, and reports that directly inform organizational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis:

The GIS and Data Specialist will be responsible for:

• Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating geographic data from various sources (government, national, and internal datasets).
• Handling and managing various types of national and government data to ensure accuracy and integrity.

GIS Platform Utilization:

• Working effectively with different GIS platforms to manage geospatial information.
• Applying strong analytical skills to various types of geospatial data to produce high-quality maps and reports.

Reporting & Decision Support:

• Producing final analytical reports based on comprehensive geographic analysis.
• Supporting decision-making across the department by providing accurate, timely information derived from geographic analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience:
• Proven experience working with and utilizing different GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Experience handling and integrating different data sources, including government and national datasets.
• Skills & Abilities:
• Exceptional ability to analyze various types of geospatial data and produce professional maps and reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
