Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Government Tender Writer to support our efforts in securing public sector contracts in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of writing winning tender submissions for local authorities, NHS, government departments, and other public sector bodies.
You will be responsible for end-to-end tender management, from identifying opportunities and interpreting tender specifications to drafting compelling responses and ensuring timely submission. The role requires someone with excellent writing, project management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret tender documentation and understand evaluation criteria, buyer needs, and compliance requirements
- Write clear, concise, and persuasive content tailored to each tender specification
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather the necessary information and evidence (policies, case studies, financials, accreditations, etc.)
- Edit and proofread proposals for consistency, accuracy, and quality
- Maintain a library of boilerplate content and template documents to streamline future submissions
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in writing government tenders or similar documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex documentation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.
- Some knowledge of specific sectors (e.g., healthcare, IT, construction, professional services) is a plus
