Graphic Designer Job Responsibilities in the Pharma Industry1. Brand & Marketing Material Design
- Create visual designs for product brochures, visual aids (VAs), leave-behind materials (LBMs), product cards, and sales promotion items.
- Design packaging, labels, cartons, and ensure compliance with pharma branding guidelines.
- Develop brand logos, campaign themes, and product visual identities.
2. Medical & Scientific Communication
- Transform complex medical/scientific information into clear, accurate, and visually appealing graphics.
- Create diagrams, infographics, MOA (Mechanism of Action) illustrations, dosage charts, and product comparison visuals.
- Work closely with the medical and regulatory team to ensure scientific accuracy.
3. Digital Design & Content Creation
- Design content for digital marketing: social media posts, web banners, Google ads, emailers, landing pages, etc.
- Create assets for doctor engagement platforms, webinars, digital detailing apps, and CRM tools.
- Design e-visual aids, animated explainers, and product videos.
4. Packaging & Compliance
- Develop packaging layouts that meet DCGI and regulatory norms.
- Ensure correct placement of batch details, warnings, mandatory text, and artwork dimensions.
- Coordinate with printing vendors to ensure colour accuracy and print quality.
5. Collaboration With Internal Teams
- Work closely with sales, marketing, medical, regulatory, and product management teams.
- Understand project briefs, product positioning, and brand strategy.
- Incorporate feedback and ensure timely delivery of design assets.
6. Vendor & Print Coordination
- Prepare print-ready files (CMYK, bleeds, dielines) and coordinate with printers.
- Review machine proofs and ensure final prints match expected quality.
- Source and manage external agencies or freelancers when needed.
7. Project Management & Quality Standards
- Maintain organization’s brand guidelines across all visuals.
- Ensure all designs follow pharma compliance, ethical communication, and scientific accuracy.
- Manage multiple design projects with deadlines and version control.
8. Software Expertise
- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- After Effects or Premiere Pro (optional but valuable in pharma)
- PowerPoint for scientific presentations
