Job Summary

BeVera Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer (Graphic Designer IV) to lead the visual design and layout development for the annual National Small Business Resource Guide. This role is responsible for creating compelling graphics, charts, tables, and interactive visual elements that enhance clarity and engage diverse audiences across a 40–60 page digital publication. The Graphic Designer ensures the guide is visually cohesive, professionally branded, and fully compliant with federal quality and accessibility standards.

NOTICE – CONTINGENT POSITION: This role is part of a pre-award candidate search for an upcoming federal government contract.

Key Responsibilities

Publication Layout and Design

  • Lead the design and layout of the National Small Business Resource Guide.
  • Develop a straightforward, engaging, and visually appealing layout that supports readability and flow.
  • Ensure design aligns with federal brand guidelines and presents information clearly across digital platforms.

Creation of Original Graphics and Digital Assets

  • Create original graphics, illustrations, icons, charts, infographics, maps, and other visual elements.
  • Transform raw data and content into visually engaging and easy-to-understand graphics.
  • Design visuals that highlight key information, human stories, and program impact.

Accessibility and Compliance

  • Ensure the final digital guide is accessible, user-friendly, and compliant with Section 508 requirements.
  • Support production of a finalized, accessible digital publication.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Collaborate with the project team and SMEs to ensure all visuals are aligned with the written content.
  • Participate in feedback and review cycles, adjusting designs as needed to meet project expectations.
  • Maintain strong communication throughout drafting, revision, and final approval stages.

Support for Success Stories and Supplementary Content

  • Format and visually present small business success stories provided from various regions.
  • Incorporate photography, quotes, and graphics to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Assist in developing visual elements that may be repurposed for social media, websites, or summaries.

Quality Assurance and File Management

  • Review all designed materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and a high level of visual quality.
  • Maintain organized file structures, version tracking, and design documentation.
  • Deliver clean, finalized design files in alignment with project deadlines.

Requirements

Educational and Experience Qualifications

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements for successful performance under the anticipated contract.

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a graphic or digital designer, with experience occurring within the last three years.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • Documented experience producing visually engaging, user-friendly digital products.
  • Portfolio demonstrating work on multi-page digital publications of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience developing graphics, infographics, charts, and other visual assets.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience with interactive or multimedia graphics for digital products
  • Familiarity with accessibility practices for digital content.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal agencies or similar public-sector projects.
  • Knowledge of small business, economic development, or SBA program areas.
