Minuteman Press, the world’s largest and top-rated digital print, marketing, and design franchise, is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer / Prepress and Production Artist to join our team.

As a Prepress Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating visually appealing designs for print, managing client artwork, assisting customers with their projects, and preparing files for production. You’ll play a key role in ensuring each job meets both creative and technical standards while maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create visually appealing graphics for digital and print media, ensuring alignment with client branding and project goals.

  • Perform general typesetting and page layout for a wide range of customer projects including stationery, promotional products, annual reports, mailings, and large-format materials.
  • Prepare and preflight digital files: check fonts, links, and colors, create bleeds and crops, impose art, and export print-ready PDFs.
  • Review job specifications from work orders and ensure client files are accurate and the final product exceeds customer expectations.
  • Maintain an organized digital file system using company and franchise standards.
  • Perform data list cleanup and mail prep using AccuZip (training provided) and manage data merges in InDesign or XMPie.
  • Operate wide-format printers and assist with digital print and finishing tasks as needed.
  • Use prepress software such as PitStop Pro and Quite Imposing to preflight artwork and impose jobs efficiently.
  • Collaborate with production staff and management to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery.
  • Support day-to-day shop operations and assist customers with quotes, timelines, and project details as needed.
  • Perform ad hoc projects or other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role with a strong portfolio of print and digital work.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, with experience in Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • Associate degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional customer service demeanor.
  • Passion for print, design, and production with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and learn new software and tasks as needed.
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility for overtime during busy periods.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately.
