Hair Braider

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Braider and Loctician to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various braiding techniques, hair extensions, locs refresh and hair styling, providing exceptional service to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of sanitation practices, cosmetology standards, and excellent customer service skills. The Hair Braider and Loctician will contribute to creating beautiful, customized hairstyles while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of braiding styles, including intricate designs and protective styles tailored to client preferences
• Apply hair extensions with precision and care
• Utilize salon software such as Booksy for appointment scheduling and client management
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas according to industry regulations
• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs, offering styling advice, and ensuring client satisfaction
• Manage front desk duties including appointment bookings, check-ins, and payment processing using salon management tools
• Mentor junior staff or apprentices when applicable, sharing expertise in hair threading, color theory, and store management
• Stay current with the latest trends in hair styling, braiding, and retail sales strategies

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hair braiding techniques and hair styling with a portfolio of work preferred
• Knowledge of hair extensions, and color theory is highly desirable
• Familiarity with salon software such as Booksy or similar platforms for scheduling and client records
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Experience in retail sales, upselling products, and retail math to enhance client experience and sales performance
• Ability to maintain high standards of sanitation and safety protocols within the salon environment
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while providing personalized attention to each client
