Head of Design UX/UI

Overview

A global fintech company is seeking a Head of Design to lead the transformation of its trading and crypto platforms. The ideal candidate will define the design vision, elevate user experience across all touchpoints, and embed design excellence as a strategic advantage within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design strategy for trading and crypto platforms across web and mobile.
• Redesign core user journeys, including onboarding, trading, account management, and market discovery, ensuring intuitive and high-conversion experiences.
• Establish scalable design systems, component libraries, and user interface standards to ensure consistency and quality.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing design team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to translate complex financial concepts into simple, engaging user experiences.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and integrate customer insights into product development cycles.
• Oversee usability testing, data-driven design decisions, and continuous iteration of platform interfaces.
• Drive design reviews and maintain alignment with brand identity and business objectives.
• Define and implement best practices for accessibility, interaction design, and performance optimization.
• Contribute strategically to the company's vision by helping shape a design-driven culture across departments.

Qualifications Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or head-of-design capacity.
• Proven track record designing fintech, trading, or crypto platforms (web and mobile).
• Deep understanding of UX for financial products, trading systems, and data visualization.
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and prototyping platforms.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; capable of building and scaling multidisciplinary design teams.
• Skilled in balancing creativity with business impact-prioritizing speed, quality, and user value.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advocate for design decisions confidently.
• Experience establishing design operations and frameworks within fast-paced, cross-functional organizations.
• Background in collaborating with agile product and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with both traditional financial products and emerging crypto or DeFi ecosystems.
• Familiarity with usability testing tools, analytics platforms, and behavioral data interpretation.
• Ability to operate in dynamic, evolving environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of information architecture, responsive design, and accessibility principles.
