Head of Ecommerce – Large Retail Group


We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Ecommerce to own and scale the digital commerce strategy across a leading retail group. This role will drive online revenue growth, optimise customer experience, and lead the end-to-end digital commercial function across multiple brands and categories.


Key Responsibilities

Ecommerce Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute a data-driven ecommerce strategy that aligns with the wider business and brand objectives.
  • Own P&L for ecommerce channels, driving sales, profitability, and conversion.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance planning.

Digital Operations & Customer Experience

  • Oversee end-to-end ecommerce operations including merchandising, onsite optimisation, product content, promotions, and fulfilment.
  • Champion best-in-class UX/CX across website, app, and digital touchpoints.
  • Partner with product, tech, and design teams to continuously improve site speed, checkout, navigation, and mobile performance.

Commercial Management

  • Create and manage promotional calendars, pricing strategies, and category performance plans.
  • Analyse KPIs to drive decisions around assortment, inventory, consumer behaviour, and digital marketing ROI.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing ecommerce team across content, trading, operations, and analytics.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous optimisation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with retail, supply chain, finance, marketing, CRM, and logistics teams to ensure seamless omnichannel performance.
  • Build strong relationships with external agencies and technology partners.


Requirements

  • 10–20 years of experience in ecommerce within retail, fashion, consumer goods, or multi-brand environments.
  • Proven track record of scaling ecommerce revenue and managing digital operations at significant scale.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience owning ecommerce P&L.
  • Deep understanding of UX/CX, site optimisation, analytics, merchandising, and digital marketing.
  • Leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary ecommerce teams.
  • Highly analytical, data-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Experience in the GCC market is a strong advantage.
