Position Title: Head of Engineering - Solar Energy
Location: Karachi
Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
Experience:
- 10+ years in solar energy engineering with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in delivering utility-scale solar projects (100 MW+ preferred).
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of photovoltaic system design.
- Proficient in solar design tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, etc.
- Strong background in data analytics and real-time monitoring using SCADA, IoT, or AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Building and Leadership:
Recruit, train, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- System Design & Technical Oversight:
Lead design and optimization of utility-scale and commercial solar PV systems.
Oversee technical documentation, including schematics and specifications.
- Project Management:
Plan engineering projects, including resource allocation and quality assurance.
Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to meet milestones.
- Energy Modeling & Simulation:
Perform energy yield assessments and analyze performance metrics.
Integrate weather data into performance simulations.
- Grid Integration & Storage:
Design grid-tied and off-grid solar systems ensuring compliance with standards.
Lead integration of energy storage solutions and power control systems.
- Compliance & Standards:
Ensure adherence to international and local engineering standards.
Conduct technical due diligence for regulatory compliance.
- Innovation & Technology Integration:
Stay updated on emerging technologies in renewable energy.
Explore innovative solutions for renewable energy integration.
- Stakeholder Management & Reporting:
Serve as the technical point of contact for clients and regulatory authorities.
Prepare and present technical reports and financial models.
