We are looking for a Head of Facility to join our team.

Novo Nordisk Foundation Cellerator is leading the transformation of the cell therapy landscape by developing and operating a state-of-the-art process development and GMP manufacturing facility at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Lyngby. Our advanced ATMP facility, currently under greenfield construction, is scheduled to commence operations in Q3 2027 and will be ready for regulatory inspections by Q3 2028. As a philanthropic entity, Cellerator is dedicated to accelerating the progress of cell-based therapies, serving both academic institutions and industry partners. Our mission is to foster significant growth in regenerative medicine for the benefit of patients and society.

As our Head of Facility at Cellerator, you will take a leading role in shaping the design, operation, and continuous improvement of our site. This is a position where our vision meets hands-on execution: you'll oversee facility planning and infrastructure development while staying closely involved in daily operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. From optimizing workflows and resource allocation to driving sustainability initiatives and safety standards.

You'll be the key decision-maker guiding our facility toward operational excellence. At the same time, you'll lead by example - working alongside teams, solving challenges on the ground, and ensuring that our facility supports innovation and growth. Your key tasks will include:

  • Facilitymanagement oversee all aspects of facility operations: including utilities, infrastructure, cleanrooms HVAC, equipment, BMS/FMS systems, contract cleaning, waste management, canteen, reception, organizing maintenance call out repair as needed.
  • Warehouse management:Oversee all aspects of warehouse and material management to provide adequate stock control for seamless development and manufacturing activities
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure the facility meets all regulatory requirements (EMA, FDA, GMP, EHS) and is inspection-ready at all times.
  • Strategic planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for facility, sustainability, and technology upgrades and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Team management: Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team including technicians, maintenance, and facility support staff. Provide necessary training to all staff on EHS and general facility procedures.
  • Budget oversight:Manage facility budgets, capital expenditure planning, and vendor contracts.
  • Cross-functional collaboration>: Partner with QA, Production, Engineering services, and supply Chain to support seamless manufacturing operations.
  • Laboratory Integration: Leverage laboratory Management experience to bridge Development and GMP operations, ensuring facility design and operational procedures support both flexibility and innovation, whilst maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, as well as health and safety risks ensuring business continuity, staff welfare and robust preventive maintenance programs

We also imagine that you have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, life sciences or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+years of management of facility management in regulated environment
  • Background in laboratory management (academic, clinical, or industrial) with demonstrated ability to translate lab requirements into facility operations is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of EHS, GMP and regulatory compliance in EU and global context
  • Familiarity with ELN / LIMS and ERP systems in regulated manufacturing environments
