Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Directional Driller to join our construction and utility installation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation, construction site management, and directional drilling techniques. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects that require precision and technical expertise, supporting infrastructure development and underground utility installation. Candidates should possess mechanical knowledge, experience with various construction machinery, and the ability to operate specialized equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks. A valid commercial driver’s license is preferred to facilitate equipment transport and site logistics.

Duties

  • Operate and manage horizontal directional drilling equipment with precision to install underground utilities efficiently.
  • Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure timely completion of drilling operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, water trucks, and Caterpillar equipment.
  • Assist in site preparation activities such as grading, excavation, and material movement using heavy equipment like graders and loaders.
  • Support paving operations when required by operating paving equipment such as graders or pavers.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings related to horizontal drilling projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of drilling activities, equipment usage, and project progress.

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, water trucks, and paving machinery.
  • Experience with horizontal directional drilling techniques and related machinery.
  • Ability to operate various heavy equipment safely and efficiently in a construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures.
  • Commercial driving skills for transporting equipment between sites when necessary.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and processes such as paving, grading, excavation, and utility installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and project managers.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure or utility projects is highly desirable. Pay: From $100,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
