Horticulture / Landscape Engineer

Job Summary:

Responsible for the design, execution, and maintenance of landscape and garden projects, including indoor/outdoor plant care, irrigation systems, and vertical gardens. Ensures high standards of horticultural excellence while leading teams, managing client relationships, and overseeing all related operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Planning

• Develop detailed and creative landscape designs (indoor, outdoor, and vertical) using CAD and design software
• Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, technical drawings, and work schedules
• Select appropriate plants and materials, with expert knowledge in date palms, Washingtonia, olive trees, and ornamental species
• Integrate sustainable and water-efficient design principles into all plans

2. New Landscape Installations

• Lead and supervise the installation of lawns, planting beds, indoor plant arrangements, and vertical/green walls
• Oversee the construction of softscape and related hardscape elements
• Ensure all work complies with design specifications, client expectations, and site conditions

3. Maintenance & Plant Health Care

• Plan and manage daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance activities (watering, pruning, fertilizing, trimming, mowing, pest control)
• Implement plant care programs based on species needs and environmental conditions
• Identify and treat plant diseases and pest infestations using safe and effective methods
• Maintain updated logs for fertilization, pest control, and plant health

4. Irrigation Systems

• Design and install irrigation systems (drip/sprinkler/manual/automatic) tailored to each project
• Monitor water usage, system performance, and pressure regulation
• Schedule and perform regular maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of irrigation components
• Implement smart irrigation technologies where applicable

5. Client Coordination & Site Management

• Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and progress reviews
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding updates, issues, and recommendations
• Handle customer feedback and provide professional horticultural solutions
• Represent the company in client meetings and presentations

6. Team Leadership & Operations

• Supervise and allocate tasks to gardeners, laborers, and drivers
• Ensure staff follow safety protocols and quality procedures
• Train team members in horticultural practices, machinery use, and care standards
• Maintain work schedules and monitor performance on-site

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and submit reports on project status, plant condition, material usage, and team productivity
• Maintain accurate records of irrigation schedules, maintenance activities, and inventory
• Assist in preparing technical documentation and proposals for new projects

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in landscape design, garden maintenance, and irrigation systems
• Strong knowledge of plant species, pests/diseases, fertilizers, and sustainable landscaping methods
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and other landscape software
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills
• Valid driving license (Qatar/GCC preferred)
• Excellent command on English communication is highly required; Arabic is a plus)
