Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping team to ensure all areas of the facility maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. This role ensures efficient workflow, proper staff coordination, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Supervision

  • Lead, supervise, and support housekeeping staff during daily operations.
  • Assign tasks, schedules, and areas of responsibility.
  • Conduct regular briefings and ensure the team understands priorities and standards.

2. Quality Control

  • Inspect rooms, offices, facilities, and public areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Ensure proper use of cleaning materials, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Report and address maintenance issues promptly.

3. Training & Development

  • Train new staff on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
  • Provide regular coaching and guidance to improve performance and productivity.

4. Inventory & Supplies

  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with procurement or administration for timely replenishment.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory.

5. Administrative Duties

  • Prepare attendance, duty rosters, and shift scheduling.
  • Maintain cleaning logs, inspection reports, and incident reports.
  • Assist in performance evaluations.

6. Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct safety briefings and enforce the use of protective equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies such as spills, accidents, or guest concerns.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and scheduling.
