Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure the organization's compliance.
- Manage the employee lifecycle from a compliance standpoint, including onboarding, recordkeeping, and offboarding processes.
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to align with legal and regulatory changes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with disclosure and notice requirements throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Assist with and advise on employee relations issues from a compliance perspective.
- Provide training and guidance to HR teams and other departments on compliance-related matters.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field is typically required
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or a similar role.
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of key federal and state employment laws, such as Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
- Auditing: Experience in performing audits and identifying/mitigating compliance risks.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems and other relevant software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and superior verbal and written communication skills.
