Job Overview
As a Human Resources Assistant at Careplus Healthcare Services, you will support the HR department in recruiting, onboarding, and managing staff who provide compassionate care to our clients. Your role will include coordinating recruitment processes, assisting with employee records management, and ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards, including maintaining accurate client records and paperwork. You will play a vital part in helping Careplus build a team of skilled, dedicated professionals who are committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment Support: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews, particularly for Direct Support Professionals and related healthcare roles.
  • Onboarding Coordination: Facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring all paperwork, certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid), and training requirements are completed to meet regulatory standards.
  • Employee and Client Record Management: Maintain and update employee files, tracking certifications, renewals, and training sessions to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance of client records and required documentation.
  • Payroll and Attendance Assistance: Support payroll processing by tracking employee hours, verifying timesheets, and updating attendance records.
  • Training and Development Support: Schedule and organize ongoing training sessions to ensure staff stay updated on best practices in patient care, HIPAA compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, offering assistance with HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns in a confidential and supportive manner.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that employee documentation aligns with healthcare regulations and standards, assisting with audits and reviews as needed, including compliance with client records and paperwork standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare HR or administrative role is highly desirable, particularly in home care, assisted living, or group home environments.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with healthcare regulations and patient privacy standards (such as HIPAA) is an asset.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for records management and reporting.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with both employees and candidates, with a focus on fostering a positive work environment.
  • Compliance Knowledge: An understanding of healthcare staffing requirements and patient care standards, with a focus on accurate client record-keeping and documentation.
