POSITION SUMMARY: This is an administrative position responsible for completing various Human Resources functions within a specified region. All activities are performed in conjunction with and in support of the Director of Human Resources.
HR FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of regional employment laws and regulations; reviews policies in conjunction with Director of Human Resources to ensure compliance
- Aids in the talent acquisition process and helps to execute the organizations recruitment strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, retention, and succession planning
- Collaborates with leadership to understand skills and competencies required for new and existing positions/job openings
- Responsible for the onboarding of new hires, maintenance of employee personnel records, and administration of the employee evaluation process
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of all human resource files and records
- Works with leadership teams to help with the enforcement of company policies and practices
- Aids in the benefit administration process and open enrollment periods for medical/dental and vision insurance
- Assists in the administration of the company’s 401(k) retirement plan
- Provides support to managerial staff for various personnel issues to include workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, development of process improvement plans, etc.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Answers incoming calls, greets clients, visitors, and guests; maintains accurate records of calls received and visitor requests
- Ensures all incoming guests sign-in when arriving and sign-out upon departure
- Receives all mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries; distributes items accordingly
- Develops and maintains storage and inventory of laboratory supplies in conjunction with Supply and Inventory Team
- Performs routine errands to include short-distance travel to/from local business, retail establishments, etc. for the purchase of supplies and inventory on an as needed basis
- Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of all common areas including front office, staff break room and facilities; ensures all are kept neat and tidy in between weekly cleaner visits
- Provides general clerical support in regard to the drafting, editing and proof reading of documents, reports, and data entry
- Assists in the research, collection and processing of data/information for special projects; provides support in regard to copying, filing, scanning and document processing
- Arranges for the maintenance of all office equipment including copiers, and computer systems
- Initiates service calls, tracks appointments and confirms completion of service requests
- Provides onsite support during events to help address potential problems; provides for post-event assessment to determine successes and/or areas for improvement
- Works with key players to help develop means and methods to support customer appreciation for our external client base, i.e. gifts and giveaways, holiday promotions, meals and entertainment, etc.
- Responsible for other job-related duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
General Knowledge/Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of modern office practices and use of the Microsoft Office Suite for Word and Excel
- High level communication and presentation skills; ability to build relationships and strengthen partnerships with a strong focus on customer service
- Ability to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility and the ability to work effectively with fellow employees
- Experience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines; accountable for the completion of assigned goals and objectives
Experience, Education, Licenses/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in human resources
- Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) is preferred
