Key Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Execute timely and accurate end-to-end processing of bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including permanent, part-time, and temporary staff.
- Data Management: Collect, verify, and input all necessary payroll data, including hours worked, new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits deductions, garnishments, and leaves of absence (FMLA, LOA).
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure all payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file all required payroll-related tax returns and reports.
- Manage annual and quarterly reporting activities, such as W-2s, P11Ds, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual).
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs and manage related payroll deductions, coordinating with external vendors as needed.
- Reconciliation & Auditing: Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding compensation, benefits, tax withholdings, and general payroll queries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- System & Process Improvement: Utilize payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, SAP, Kronos) efficiently and assist with the implementation of new systems or process improvement initiatives.
