HSE Officer

Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a HSE Officer in Nagaa Hammadi, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our HSE Officer you will Assist on the facilitation, development , maintenance and continual improvement of the p roject health, safety, security, and environment is managed according to Scatec Operating system (HSSE management system) legal and other requirements .

Main Responsibilities

Support Management with HSE

• Support Management on HSE Management System standard issues
• Provide technical support to Management on any health, safety and environmental-related subjects
• Support to manage and monitoring HSE targets and objectives and ensuring compliance with legal and other requirements.
  
  
  
  

Perform and assist with the HSE obligations

• Support management to conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of solutions and implementation of strategies to address identified key risk areas
• Compile and distribute HSE Reports to convey information on the HSE monitoring and performance
• Monitor and manage environmental aspects related to the organization's activities.
• Oversee the selection, use, and maintenance of PPE. Ensure that employees are provided with the necessary gear to perform their jobs
• Conduct Internal HSE Audits
• Conduct second/third party (subcontractor) HSE Audits
• Support in HSE External Audits
• Liaises with authorities and other stakeholders on HSE-related issues
• Assist in logging incidents and Observation into the Operating System
  
  
  
  

Implement and ensure the upkeep of HSE systems and functions

• Administer contractor HSE requirements
• Implement, and deliver HSE training programs to the workforce and management
• Ensure the implementation of HSE management programs
• Implement emergency response plans, including drills and exercise
• Ensure the organization complies with all applicable legal requirements, maintain accurate records of legal requirements, and ensure timely submission of reports to regulatory authorities.
• Maintain HSSE records and documentation i.e., incident investigation reports, training records, etc.
• Ensure adherence to traffic and other site safety rules.
• Ensure all work permits are issued, up to date and suited to activity before work commences.
  
  
  
  

Drive Improvement Of HSE Systems And Functions

• Administer and continual improvement of HSE management control documentation
• Keep abreast of legislative changes and best practice methods
• Support in Carrying out analysis of accident/incidents statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans
  
  
  
  

Qualifications And Competencies

• Education: At least a Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, medicine, Agriculture, or an equivalent degree. or valid qualification on environment, occupational health and safety National Diploma and Above qualifications an advantage.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an HSE position (p reference with experience in solar plants).
• Fluent in English, spoken and written and fluent in Arabic
• You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges

• Basic knowledge of IFC’s HSSE guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, etc.

The candidate must be willing to travel as needed and hold a valid driver’s license.
