Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to support our HR department in various functions essential to effective workforce management. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of human resources principles and systems. This role offers an opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and HRIS management. The Human Resources Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth HR processes and fostering a positive work environment aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with talent acquisition activities, including sourcing candidates through Indeed, Craigslist, Monster, LinkedIn. Zip Recruiter and supporting the interview process.
  • Support employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure seamless integration of new hires.
  • Maintain accurate employee records through data entry and data collection using HRIS systems like Axis Care, Paycheck Flex.
  • Aid in benefits administration processes, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries related to health insurance, workers' compensation, and other employee benefits.
  • Support performance management initiatives by coordinating employee evaluations and assisting with training & development programs.
  • Help manage employee relations by addressing routine inquiries and facilitating conflict management resolutions.
  • Contribute to compliance efforts related to employment & labor law, OSHA standards, affirmative action planning, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with project management tasks related to organization design, change management initiatives, succession planning, and strategic workforce planning.
  • Support HR sourcing efforts through social media management and recruitment campaigns on various platforms.
  • Prepare reports and assist with HR data analysis to support decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience or familiarity with human capital management systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, or PeopleSoft.
  • Strong understanding of employment & labor law, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation policies, and HR compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of HR functions including talent acquisition, employee evaluation, benefits administration, performance management, and training & development.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems such as SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle HCM; experience with ATS platforms like iCIMS or Taleo is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry and contract management tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $21.88 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
