A rapidly growing healthcare organization (350+ employees) is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead and oversee all human resources operations across multiple facilities. This role requires strong experience with employee relations, investigations, employment law, benefits, payroll oversight, and HR leadership.
You will serve as the senior HR leader, partnering closely with executives, facility directors, and department heads to ensure a compliant, supportive, and performance-driven workplace.
This position is based in Lakewood, NJ, with quarterly travel to facilities across the region.
Lead and oversee the HR department for a 350+ employee healthcare organization
Handle employee relations, workplace investigations, performance issues, and corrective action
Support and advise leadership on employment law and compliance
Oversee payroll administration and employee benefits
Manage Open Enrollment and ensure accurate benefit data
Supervise and develop HR team members
Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook
Partner with leadership to address staffing needs, training, and retention
Conduct quarterly visits to each facility to maintain visibility and build relationships
Support new-hire onboarding, offboarding, and documentation compliance
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS information
Use PrizmHR (training available if needed)
Ensure HIPAA, labor law, and healthcare compliance standards
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR leadership
Experience managing and developing teams
Strong background in employee relations and workplace investigations
Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, addiction treatment, or similar (preferred)
Ability to manage payroll & benefits with accuracy
Strong communication, professionalism, and leadership skills
Willingness to travel quarterly to multiple facilities
HRIS experience; PrizmHR experience preferred but training available
Multi-site HR management experience
Experience working with clinicians, support staff, and healthcare facility operations
Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort with sensitive employment issues
Competitive salary: $140,000 to 160,000
