Job Description: HR Generalist
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations with a focus on managing employee leave, required medical documentation, PTO tracking, and compliance-related processes. This role will also provide general HR support, ensuring that employees receive timely, accurate, and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage employee leave of absence requests, including FMLA, short-term disability, workers’ compensation, and other medical or personal leave.
- Maintain accurate records of PTO, sick time, and attendance, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Collect, verify, and process medical documentation required for accommodations or leaves of absence.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding leave eligibility, status updates, and return-to-work procedures.
- Support HR compliance by maintaining personnel files and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing documentation and coordinating employee transitions.
- Provide general HR support in areas such as policy interpretation, employee relations, and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure correct coding and payment related to leave and PTO.
- Assist with HR projects, reporting, and process improvements as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent combination of education and HR experience will be considered.
- 2–3 years of HR experience, preferably in leave administration, benefits, or HR operations.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and state leave regulations strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with employees and managers at all levels.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
