The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting a wide range of human resources functions, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career HR professional to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in a fast-paced federal contracting environment. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

1–3 years of experience in human resources (internships or HR coordinator roles accepted).

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities with a professional and approachable demeanor.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Familiarity with HRIS systems and federal contractor compliance requirements (EEO, OFCCP, VEVRAA, AAP).

SHRM-CP or PHR certification, or actively pursuing certification.

Compliance & Policy Support
-
Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes and best practices.

Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to align with organizational goals and legal requirements.

Support HR audits and maintain accurate, organized records in accordance with federal contractor requirements, including EEO, VETS-4212, and AAP reporting.

Partner with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure adherence to compliance standards and timely submission of required reports.

Monitor and maintain documentation related to workplace policies, employment eligibility (I-9), and required postings to ensure legal compliance.

Assist in preparing compliance reports, metrics, and documentation for internal and external audits.

Contribute to internal process improvements by identifying compliance risks and recommending policy or procedural enhancements.

Support the creation and delivery of compliance-related training and communication to managers and employees.
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding-
Coordinate and execute all aspects of the onboarding process, including background checks, new hire documentation, orientation scheduling, and system setup.

Prepare, organize, and maintain comprehensive employee files and HR records, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with retention standards.

Facilitate smooth and engaging new hire experiences by collaborating with hiring managers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.

Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, final documentation, system access removal, and communication of separation details.

Support continuous improvement of onboarding and offboarding workflows to enhance efficiency, consistency, and employee satisfaction.

Track and report onboarding metrics to evaluate process effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Maintain and update onboarding materials and resources to reflect company policies and branding.

Ensure all employment-related documentation and data entry are completed accurately and on time.
Benefits Administration-
Provide comprehensive administrative support for employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.

Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and confidential resolution in coordination with insurance carriers and vendors.

Assist with annual open enrollment, including system setup, employee communications, enrollment tracking, and follow-up to ensure timely completion.

Maintain accurate benefits of records and documentation in HRIS and personnel files, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Support benefits billing, reconciliation, and auditing to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors.

Coordinate leaves of absence and related benefits of administration, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and other applicable regulations.

Help educate employees on benefit offerings by developing and distributing communications, resources, and guides.

Support wellness initiatives and other employee programs designed to promote engagement, retention, and overall well-being.
HR Operations & Employee Support-
Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate routine and ad hoc HR reports for management review.

Respond to employee inquiries and provide accurate, timely support regarding HR policies, programs, and procedures.

Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company events.

Support the performance review and goal-setting processes, ensuring timely completion and consistency.

Assist in managing training and development initiatives, including tracking participation and maintaining training records.

Help ensure consistency in HR documentation, file management, and internal workflows.

Collaborate with finance, operations, and leadership teams to support organizational initiatives and process improvements.

Contribute to special HR projects, reporting, and analytics as assigned.
