A current vacancy exists for a Human Resources Generalists within the Norristown Area School District.
The HR Generalist is responsible for providing confidential and technical support to all employee groups for a wide variety of human resources activities, including full-cycle recruiting and hiring. The HR Generalist advises administrators and supervisors in all HR practices, provides information to employees about regulations, contract language, policies, and provides general support. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and will work cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Communications, or similar related field.
- 1-2 years work-related or internship experience in human resources required
- 3-5 years direct human resources experience preferred
- Professional in Human Resources (SHRM) preferred
- Experience with technology, including extensive experience with google platform
- Proven positive experience in providing a high level of customer experience
- Ability to problem solve and use technology to work effectively
- Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions and exercise good judgement in prioritizing tasks
- Superior communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment required.
- Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Fingerprint clearances within one year of hire
- Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruitment and hiring effort for all personnel including administrative, support and professional employees.
- Ensure appropriate communication with recruitment candidates using onlinerecruitment system and other appropriate tools.
- Assist with Frontline systems- Absence management and Time and Attendance.
- Assist HR Recruitment and Data Specialist with weekly staff timesheet corrections/request
- Maintain Human Resources personnel software system and other data management systems ensuring accuracy of records and reports. This includes the oversight of data entry of new hire information and on-going maintenance and updates necessary.
- Generate all action forms for employee hires, resignations, retirements, transfers, status changes, etc.
- Create and manage job description database to ensure most up to date information districtwide.
- Supports the new-employee sign up process.
- Computer skills including Google platform; payroll software systems such as efinance; Frontline Time & Attendance (Applicant Tracking System), Absence Management, and Talented.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and data, eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation.
- Understand and interpret collective bargaining agreements within different employment groups.
- Possess knowledge of Title IX regulations and CCIU’s related policies in compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of PDE certification guidelines.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary and Schedule:
12 Month Position
8:00am - 5:00 pm , including a 1 hour lunch*
$62,500-$67,500 (pro-rated)
