Job Overview
Join our dynamic organization as a Human Resources Manager, where you'll lead and shape our HR strategies to foster a thriving, engaged, and high-performing workforce. This pivotal role involves overseeing all facets of human resources management, from talent acquisition and employee relations to compliance and organizational development.

Full-time, approximately 30 hours per week. 9:00am-3:00pm

Flexible scheduling with in-office presence required

Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and volunteer HR inquiries.
  • Process Bi-Weekly Payroll
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for staff and volunteers, including applications, background checks, and exit procedures.
  • Maintain employee personnel files in compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Update and maintain the Employee Handbook and Volunteer Handbook to ensure policies reflect current laws and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and South Carolina employment laws and organizational policies, including those related to workplace safety and volunteer standards.
  • Update existing HR policies and procedures and draft new ones as needed.
  • Track required training, certifications, and performance evaluations for staff.
  • Explain and assist employees with understanding and accessing benefits applicable under Mission Lexington’s nonprofit benefit arrangements.
  • Coordinate recognition and appreciation programs for staff and volunteers.
  • Assist with recruitment by preparing job postings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
  • Prepare HR-related reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, safety, and respect across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising HR teams with strong leadership skills in talent management, employee relations, and program management.
  • Knowledge of employment law, workers' compensation procedures, OSHA regulations, and HR compliance standards.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or small business environment.
  • Knowledge of federal and South Carolina employment laws.
  • Experience working with and supporting volunteers a plus.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
