The Automatic Transmission and driveline design and release specialist for hydraulic control units, valve bodies, pumps, solenoids and actuators will be responsible for specifying and maintaining hydraulics & electromechanical component requirements . The candidate will work in the COE (council of excellence for hydraulics & electromechanical components (pump, filter, valve body, valves, solenoids, sensor, harness, etc.) Provide technical support and leadership within the transmission and driveline product release center engineering team for given propulsion system components .
Responsibilities:
Design and release responsible for key components for automatic transmissions and gear reducer systems
Lead and ensure key components design best practices , lessons learned and continuous improvements are followed and integrated into product design release process
Lead technical infrastructure lead for key components , documentation, specifications , requirements definitions and drawing signoffs for key supplied components
Lead and support warranty and quality related topics
Promote i ntellectual property identification and development
Coaching , training and mentoring less experienced engineers
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related degree field
A minimum of 10 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions or related field
Experience design and release of actuators and pumps with PCBs
Understanding of s ystem e ngineering within automatic transmissions and e lectric d rives
Ability to author system/component level requirements
Strong interpersonal communication and team leadershi p skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams
Ability to travel globally to suppliers
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in with emphasis in mechanical, electrical or similar
W orking level experience with actuator s , motor controls, communication protocols, sensors, software and functional safety .
Working experience with PCB s for a ctuators and pumps
Greenbelt or Blackbelt DFSS verification
