1. Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Source and evaluate overseas suppliers for food products, ensuring quality, pricing, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contract conditions, and delivery schedules.
- Issue purchase orders, confirm order details, and maintain updated records of supplier agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues related to quality, documentation, or delays, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Conduct market research on global pricing trends, supply risks, and industry developments.
2. Import Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and review import documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and health certificates.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. CBP, FDA, and USDA regulations.
- Submit and monitor FDA Prior Notice filings.
- Verify correct HTS codes, duty rates, and labeling requirements.
- Work with customs brokers to resolve documentation issues, holds, or inspections.
3. Logistics & Shipment Management
- Coordinate FCL and LCL shipments with freight forwarders and carriers.
- Track shipments from origin to arrival at U.S. ports and provide timely updates.
- Review arrival notices and ensure customs clearance is completed on time.
- Coordinate drayage, trucking, and final delivery to the warehouse.
- Monitor demurrage/detention timelines to avoid extra charges.
- Troubleshoot delays, port issues, or logistics disruptions.
4. Inventory Planning & Internal Coordination
- Provide shipment schedules and ETA updates to support inventory planning.
- Work with warehouses to schedule receiving, confirm quantities, and support QC.
- Maintain records of inbound shipments, stock levels, and product availability.
- Prepare reports on purchasing trends, supplier performance, and import activity.
5. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain organized digital records of purchase orders, shipment files, and compliance documents.
- Reconcile freight charges, customs duties, and import-related invoices.
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, shipment status, and inventory flow.
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
