Position Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Laborer is a non-exempt position that will deliver exceptional customer service to our industrial customers. The employee will perform a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks involving general maintenance and repairs of various industrial buildings, equipment, and grounds. The Industrial Maintenance Laborer will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services including cement, carpentry, painting, and plastering, machine servicing, light plumbing, electrical, and maintenance.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in general operations.
- Assist Grounds Maintenance and Construction Crews with duties as needed.
- Communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and all shop personnel regarding the maintenance and repair of equipment via notes, e-mail, or verbal communication.
- Complete record logs including labor, repairs made, equipment, purchase orders, and use of materials.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform all work with established safety procedures.
- Snow removal.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED certificate preferred.
- General knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Follow safety standards, performing duties and utilization of multiple tools and equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and understanding schematics.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to communicate and read & understand relevant written materials and schematic drawings in English. (Bilingual in Spanish a plus)
- Knowledge of basic safety rules & precautionary measures.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift/move heavy loads.
- Demonstrate and maintain a positive attitude and work ethic.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
- Provide own standard tools per company’s tool policy.
- Attention to detail.
