AFBF Summer Internship Program Overview:
We are pleased to offer an internship program for six of the nation’s best and brightest future leaders in agriculture.
The AFBF internship program provides university students with an immersive opportunity to develop professional skills, explore agricultural industry dynamics, and gain hands-on experience through an 8–10-week engagement with our organization. Interns will develop a comprehensive understanding of association operations while building meaningful workplace competencies.
Throughout the program, participants will network with colleagues and senior executives through targeted educational and professional development activities.
This internship is scheduled to run from the week of May 26th to the week of August 3rd. It’s preferred that interns start no later than June 1st.
Interns will be based at our Washington, DC office, working on-site four days per week with the option to telework on Fridays.
All AFBF’s interns will be paid an hourly rate of $19.00 per hour and are responsible for their own housing.
Role Description:
The Industry Relations Intern will support the Executive department in strengthening relationships with external partners and elevating the voices of Farm Bureau members. Working directly with the Industry Relations team and AFBF’s senior leadership, the intern will contribute to research projects, help organize and execute industry events, support stakeholder meeting preparations and follow-ups, and assist with other special initiatives. Additionally, the intern will support strategic relationship-building within the supply chain, as well as opportunities to provide support for fundraising efforts and the organization’s Ag Innovation programs. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate student, preferably in their sophomore year or above, majoring in an agriculture-related field, business, communications, or government. Applicants should be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
