Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in on-prem virtualization, Linux systems, and networking. This role demands hands-on experience in building infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will also bring a proactive mindset toward automation, scripting, and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

> Design, deploy, and manage on-prem virtualization environments using VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).

> Build and configure infrastructure from scratch, including servers, storage, and networking components.

> Administer and optimize Linux systems across production and development environments.

> Configure and troubleshoot networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls).

> Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure needs for applications and services.

> Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and procedures.

> Ensure infrastructure security and compliance with industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

> Strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies.

> Expert-level knowledge of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and networking fundamentals.

> Proven experience in building infrastructure from scratch, including hardware and software setup.

> Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning.

> Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred / Good to Have

> Experience with DevOps / DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

> Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation and system tasks.

> Working knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience configuring them.

> Exposure to ServiceNow for IT service management and workflow automation.

> Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
