Inspection Engineer/ inspector

Job Overview

We are looking to hire a Civil or Structural Engineer with strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, inspection practices, and structural design calculations to join our team as a Third-Party Inspection Engineer. The role involves inspecting scaffolds, falsework, lifting equipment, and lifting accessories to ensure compliance with applicable standards, EIAC requirements, and client safety expectations.

This position is ideal for an engineer with a solid technical foundation who is eager to develop expertise in temporary works inspection and third-party compliance services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of external scaffolds, falsework systems, and mobile scaffolds to verify safety and structural compliance.
• Inspect lifting equipment and lifting accessories in accordance with approved standards and statutory regulations.
• Identify defects, non-conformities, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all inspection activities align with EIAC accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Support technical assessments related to scaffold stability, load evaluation, and structural integrity.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Knowledge of scaffolding systems, temporary works, and inspection procedures.
• Understanding of structural design principles and basic engineering calculations (loads, stability, support reactions).
• 0–2 years of experience in inspection, construction, or engineering-related roles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and inspection criteria.
• Familiarity with relevant standards for scaffolding and lifting equipment is an advantage.
